SUSTAINABILITY & COMMUNITY
The Pre-cycling Mindset
We believe caring for the planet begins long before something reaches the recycling bin. That's why we embrace a precycling mindset - making thoughtful choices before products and materials even enter our salon. We prioritise suppliers who share our values, choose refillable and reusable options wherever possible, favour packaging that can have a second life, and consciously reduce unnecessary waste from the very beginning. It's a simple philosophy: the most sustainable waste is the waste that's never created. Every decision, no matter how small, is another way we care for both you and the world around us.

Of course, even with the most mindful planning, some waste is unavoidable. That's why we've partnered with Sustainable Salons - to ensure the materials that do leave our studio are given every opportunity to be repurposed, recycled or transformed into something new. Together, our pre-cycling mindset and this innovative recovery program allow us to care for our community and the environment at every stage of the journey, from the choices we make before a product arrives to where it goes after it leaves our salon.
This revolutionary resource recovery program is designed for the salon to achieve zero waste, reduce our carbon footprint, and implement sustainable work practices that benefit the local community.

Up to 95% of the resources used during your visit will be diverted from landfill and sent for recycling thanks to our partnership with Sustainable Salons.
You can learn more about Sustainable Salons at https://sustainablesalons.org/

-
All the proceeds gained from recycling the salon's metals will be donated to not-for-profit community-based organisations that do a killer job helping humanity
-
Plastic product bottles, packaging and bags are recylced into outdoor furniture, pot plants, glasses frames and underground sheeting to protect NBN
-
Any leftover colour will be recycled into water and used in construction/road works
-
Cut off hair will support charitable causes such as oil spill clean-up projects, local community gardens and charitable wig making services.
-
Once our tools reach their end of life, they will be broken down and all valuable parts will be repurposed

Replenish Refill Station
After your initial product purchase, you can come into the salon and refill your Care & Styling Product Bottles at a 15% discount.
Not only does this help you save money, but it is also another way to do your part to help save the environment. The replenish initiative is solely designed to reduce waste and lessen our impact on the environment by reducing landfill, manufacturing, and transportation. Your conscious decision will make a difference.

Re-purposeable Bottles
We love giving beautiful things a second life. Once our glass product bottles are empty, we invite you to take one home and reuse it however you'd like. They make wonderful soap dispensers, propagation jars for growing plant cuttings, vases, storage containers or even decorative pieces around your home. You can also use one to collect worm juice from our worm farm during your visit. Every bottle reused is one less item needing to be recycled, helping us reduce waste together, one small step at a time.

Our Worm Farm
Our worm farm is one of our favourite ways of turning waste into something wonderful. The tea leaves and botanical scraps from your visit are fed to our hardworking worms, who transform them into nutrient-rich "worm juice" – a natural fertiliser that's incredible for your garden. You're welcome to collect some in one of our repurposed glass bottles to take home and feed your plants. It's a simple way to give back to the earth and continue the cycle of regeneration beyond the salon.

Our Community Library
Lids4Kids
Take a book, enjoy it, then bring it back next time. Our community library is filled with inspiring books on wellness, personal growth, health and mindful living, all lovingly sourced second-hand from the Lifeline Book Fair. By purchasing our books this way, we're supporting a wonderful local charity while giving beautiful books another life. We hope you'll borrow one, share it with your family and become part of our little community of readers.
Lids4Kids is an Australian volunteer-run charity that collects plastic bottle lids to keep them out of landfills and repurposes them into recycled plastic goods, such as mobility aids and prosthetic limbs for children. Founded in Canberra in 2019, the group also focuses on community recycling education.
We donate all our colour and Product Tubes to Lids4Kids. You are welcome to bring yours along for our collection box. Learn more about Lids4Kids Here.
